Welcome to Pamunkey Chapter #7

Lodge Service Project

Every year Nawakwa has its annual service project at the nativity scene performed at the Carillon, in Byrd Park. At the Carillon, the Lodge’s main goal is to hold up and switch large pieces of scenery that are used as the backdrop for the different scenes of the nativity. Other arrowmen are responsible for stacking the used scenery down in front of the stage in between scenes. Even others are responsible for handing out flyers or acting as crowd control.

Now don’t think that this is all work and no play. The Carillon is always a lot of fun. It’s a good time to catch up with fellow arrowmen and see how their holidays are going. A new tradition that has recently started is a trip to Krispy Kreme doughnuts after the 2nd night so everybody can kick back, relax, and get loaded up on sugar. If you have never attended a Carillon Service project before, you are missing out on a very fun event. It’s a great opportunity to give back to our community, and at the same time, have some fun. Mark December 22nd and 23rd on your calendars now so you can make it to the next one; you won’t be sorry.
