The Junior Leadership Development Course is training program presented by the Arrowmen of Pamunkey Chapter 7. Every year, hundreds of new Scouts are introduced to Scouting who are in need of training from older Scouts. Our Chapter has enjoyed presenting a successful leadership course over the last few years and has worked hard to improve the course over the past few years.
The chapter has come up with its own slate of challenging activities, all of which are to be held outdoors at camp over the course of a weekend. The course is structured in the manner of a model troop, with patrols formed out of the group of participants and the senior members of the troop formed from the arrowmen on staff. Each patrol is assigned a color and each member recieves a course t-shirt that corresponds with their patrol color.
This unique training experience is offered to younger Scouts of the Heart of Virginia Council at Camp T. Brady Saunders. The program begins on Friday evening, and continues through Sunday morning. The course is limited to 48 participants (6 patrols of 8) on a first come, first serve basis. Registration forms can be found on the resources page. Also note that this course IS NOT a Buckskin course, but rather a more basic course designed as a preparation for Buckskin.
