Section SR-7A Conclave
Nawakwa Lodge is part of the Southern Region (http://www.southern.oa-bsa.org/), which is divided into multiple Areas, and Sections (http://www.southern.oa-bsa.org/sr7a.html). The purpose of the Section is to hold an annual gathering of lodges in its geographical area. Section SR-7A (http://www.sr7a.org/) is made up of the six lodges in Virginia. Conclaves allow lodges to fellowship with other Virginia Arrowmen, and compete in Ceremonies, Dance, sports and other activities.
Hosted by one of the lodges, on a six year rotation, up to 1000 Scouts get together for a full weekend of showing their lodge spirit in all sorts of ways. Activities such as volleyball, Ultimate, and dance and ceremonies competitions fill the day Saturday, then that night, there is a show, followed by a feast with each lodge contributing to the feed.
Nawakwa takes as many as 150 members to the Conclave each year. The 2007 Conclave will be held at Pipsico Scout Reservation in Surry, Virginia over the weekend of April 27-29. The cost is typically about $40. Pamunkey chapter usually provides about 25% of the Nawakwa contingent. Ask any Pamunkey Arrowman who attended a Conclave for more details!
