Welcome to Pamunkey Chapter #7

Pardon our Dust!

Please pardon any difficulties you are having with the current website. We have switched hosting servers, and are in the process of moving over. Currently, a few features, such as databases for unit elections and ceremonies requests, are not working. Thank you for you understanding and cooperation. We are working diligently to get these services back online.

New Website Launched

Undoubtedly you have noticed that Pamunkey7.com has been redesigned. Users no longer have to register to view content, and viewers no longer have the ability to post content to the website. This decision was made to switch the website type because the previous design was being spammed causing the entire site to lose much of its functionality.

Thanks to Andy Spicknall for all his work in designing the new website and to Tray Murphy, a member of Witchindin Chapter 8, for his assistance in modifying the administration pages on the website. Please be advised that the website contains some links that are not fully functional at this time and will be up 100% within the next few weeks. If you notice anything that looks out of place or have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact the webmaster at webmaster@pamunkey7.com.

If you had an administration login in previously to administer ceremonies, unit elections, or service hours, please send the webmaster an email with your name and password, as noted on the Administration page.

Junior Leadership Development Course Pamunkey Chapter #7 puts on a junior leader training course every fall for the member of the Cardinal District and the Heart of Virginia Council. This program was designed by the chapter to emphasize the skills needed in a good leader. This course was originally targeted toward new scouts; however scouts of all ages can benefit from this program.

This year's JLDC is being held October 5-7 at Camp T. Brady Saunders, the cost for the weekend is $30. Registrations are still being accepted, they can be turned into the Council Service Center.

National Leadership Seminar During the weekend of October 28-30, 6 members of Nawakwa, 4 from Pamunkey Chapter 7, attended the National Leadership Seminar (NLS) in North Carolina. These scouts and scouters received some of the best training available in the country.

The scouts and scouters who attended NLS hope to apply the things they learned to Nawakwa to better serve the Lodge and their units.

Lodge Ordeals become Lodge Service Weekends During the September Lodge Executive Committee meeting, the Committee approved a motion to change the name of the current "Lodge Ordeal" weekends to "Lodge Service" weekends. The intent was to lessen confusion among new members who may not realize the importance of returning to future lodge functions in service to Scouting.  It was reported that some members didn't feel that they need to come back to Ordeal weekends because they had already undertaken their ordeal.
